About the artist, and his work.
(brief version)
Greetings!
I am the Dread Pirate Foxy, the name was inspired by a childhood favorite movie we all know...and Ive certainly been a pirate myself in the art world.
Steve Jobs said: "It's more fun to be a pirate than join the navy."
I was born in northeast Tennessee, my parents went to NY to party during the Disco Era, we lived in low income govt housing in Far Rockaway New York for a short time and returned to east Tennessee after the party ended and lived in govt housing in Kingsport, then Johnson City until my father gained employment income enough to move to Elizabethton TN, and we moved again to my mother's family farm (rent free) in Kingsport, where I resided until it was time to go experience life on my own. I have known both great amounts of ups and downs in life, and known some very amazing people.
A story I like to tell comes from the 4th grade, my teacher and parents were concerned that I was not motivated or interested in my schoolwork and thought if they took me out of art class that I would pay better attention. That didn't work, and I was miserable. My grades did not improve and I became disruptive in class. I taught them that art class was the only thing I valued, and without it, I had no interest in being there.
Unfortunately for me, my parents and teachers could not recognize art was my focus and that aspect was neglected until I was able to re explore my interest at a much later time. I've been creating prolifically ever since, with no plans whatsoever to end.
Even if I was wealthy, I would still create.
I create two different types of artwork, but I am not limited,
I create what I consider 'fun' artwork, which is inspired by my own interests and whims.
&
I also create abstract forms of artwork for people who may enjoy my fun artwork, but choose not to collect it because it may be inappropriate to their home decor (and that is OKAY!).
I believe in doing what you say, and meaning it, too.
I work hard, I'm honest and tell the truth and love what Im doing, I do have a full time employment, a family with small children.
My time is important, and I will treat yours with the with the same respect.
